ok. lets talk about god and souls. or rather how i believe they dont exist. if ur not happy with my opinion, please dont evangelise. just stop reading this post tyvm.

i dont believe in god and i dont believe in souls. i dont believe in fate but i believe theres a reason for everything. its just not predetermined/god's decision.

i believe in people being unique not because each of us have a special soul, but because of science and chemistry. [like random fertilisation + division + i didnt pay attn in bio -.-]

then, so how was the world created huh huh huh. what was the first spark of energy huh huh huh?
well, i dont know but i sure as heck aint believing its coz of god.

anw, there ARE diseases / illnesses that affect people's behavior. you know why? brain chemistry. signals get fired wrongly and PEOPLE CHANGE. their brain chemistry changes not their soul. technically i should reference and quote blahblah to make my argument stronger but wts this is a blog not a scholarly article slamming god or the lack thereof. in any case, its from medical dramas. 'AHA UNRELIABLE THEREFORE CANNOT BE TRUSTED' yea wtv i trust that k. go wiki if u must. and screw you if you believe its a tribulation designed by god to make you stronger. so when things go wrong, 'god has a reason for this, its to make us stronger/wtv'. when things go right, 'oh it must be the divine work of god'.

i dont believe in god simply because theres no proof. 'but theres no proof he doesnt exist. lack of proof doesnt equate absence!' yea well theres no proof he doesnt exist and lack of proof doesnt mean he doesnt exist. oh wait. prayers dont get answered [directly. if events turn out the way u wanted them to it doesnt mean its god.]

someone once stressed her belief that theres a reason why people are what they are, there must be that something, that special spark makes us who we are.
i agree w. the former statement but not the latter. i believe in nurture not nature. yes there is brainchem involved in making a person but its can be overcome w nurture.
someone else's rebuttal to how theres no proof abt god's existence says thats why its called faith. you have faith. i have no comment. i like to believe im invisible when teachers are asking me for my homework. they can believe that god will help.

im getting tired of talking abt this / this is braindraining. but one more thing. my bro said he has no trouble w. religion as long as it helps motivate people to do good etc, he only has trouble w. it when people do bad things [eg bomb] for their religion.
i know this is a religion-bashing post but srsly, this is my opinion. i know there are people out there who truly believe in god because god helped them through in times of crisis and i respect that choice. but i also know there are blind followers who believe in god simply because their parents do and they were raised to believe in god. they have no other answer when i ask them 'why do u believe in god?'
honestly, i still believe the afterlife, god, religion, karma are all artificial constructs. definitely there are some ways bad deeds can come around and kick your ass later but thats just cause and effect. not... things piling up on a scale being weighed against your miserably few good deeds.
artificial constructs designed to ease the human conscience and explain things like creation and let people be happy to believe that the afterlife exists and that death isnt that scary afterall.

i usually dont spew atheist stuff in front of religious friends because thats their belief, thats their choice and i dont want to offend them. usually religion is impt to them so why knock down their whole way of life, i just go 'oh im a freethinker.' it just means that i dont subscribe to a god. in any case, my point is, go on and continue believing if your faith is that strong. this is just why i dont.

from the atheist who attended church for a v. short time as a kodomo.
