okay so technically i'm not leaving for shanghai right now, but tomorrow at FIVE.
our flight's at 4:55pm. but my mum has gone scarily psychotic and demands we get to the airport early, really really early, so we can shop.

my mum's in orchard road shopping for some books in borders for some cousin who i havent seen before and apparently she's like ten. and the books are effin ex, they're like eighty bucks or something.
and she insists that the marine parade borders (haha it feels so good to say this :D) doesnt have it in the Samantha series, whatever the hell that means, so she travelled to orchard road to find it.

the things we do for extended relatives. (okay fine barely anything).

kai informed me/or the world that kallang iceskating rink is open again.
i used to go there when i was a kid! and it was cheaper than fugi ice palace, which is like eleven bucks now.
according to her, kallang is maybe sixteen bucks plus, wth.
oh well, shall go there when there's money$$ to burn.
at least its closer to home.

i love living in the east, somehow. never going to move unless evicted forcefully from house by government. (then we can sue their ass but i read somewhere that lawsuits against the gvmt never win, think it was a dean koontz book o.O)
so that might not happen.
but i shall never want to move into the city, or in bukit timah, or something. zzz.

did you know that hdb's in marine parade are much more expensive than those in bishan? its something to do with the sea and the crazy breeze we get around here.

my mum went crazy yesterday and pulled me into coldstorage (those ppl who read my anti-coldstorage post some time back will know that im allergic to coldstorage) to buy chocolate and microwaveable popcorn.
usually she's throwing it out of the shopping cart when i want those things.
anyway.
she made me call cal to ask where he got his popcorn from and apparently its from the US, so no go. so we bought some other obscenely brightly coloured boxed popcorn called ox-something or the other.
haha.
in the end she bought 98 bucks worth of chocolate and popcorn.

and oh yeah i remember even in archie comics (BEK THEY ARE NOT A WASTE OF SPACE!) the kids would sell cookies. then there was this strange one where veronica wanted to read betty's diary so she hired leroy to pretend to sell cookies to betty. but then betty was like, "since when do scouts sell cookies?" then she suspected veronica so she ran upstairs and caught her reading her diary.

plus apparently according to some books you can buy new houses for like 60k. which is totally impossible i mean a two/three storey house in singapore costs upwards of a million, like wth.
